the Strategy and Operations Manager for Ads at Whatnot, you will
play a critical role in shaping and scaling our foundational Ads
products. Reporting to the Director of Product for Ads, you will be
a dedicated partner to the Ads team to drive strategy, execution,
and optimization across all related initiatives, collaborating with
cross-functional teams like Product, Engineering, Sales, and
GTM.What you'll do:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive growth and optimize
performance for our sellers across ad products.
- Lead cross-functional projects in partnership with product and
engineering teams to scale ads solutions and improve seller and
buyer experiences.
- Identify inefficiencies and missed opportunities in ads and
sales operations to maximize our ability to deliver value to new
sellers.
- Analyze ads data to provide actionable insights, guiding
decisions that impact the overall experience.
- Collaborate across the organization in conjunction with
product, engineering, and design to help design, evaluate, and
scale Ads products, representing seller needs and ensuring smooth
execution.
- Build and manage key relationships with internal and external
partners, sellers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on ads
initiatives.
- Advocate for Whatnot sellers and represent their voice in
determining the engineering roadmap.The Ads team is a small but
mighty team right now, split across multiple time zones and
locations from Krakow to London to New York to Los Angeles. This is
an individual contributor role that is multidisciplinary in nature;
you will be expected to fully embody the Whatnot principle of "own
everything and nothing." As the Ads business grows and matures,
there may be future opportunities to hire and lead a team of Ad
Operations Specialists but this is unlikely to be in the next 18
months.Team members in this role are required to be within
commuting distance of our San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, or
New York City hub.As our first Strategy and Operations Manager to
be dedicated to the Ads team, you should have experience in scaling
ad products at a tech company, plus:
- 7+ years of overall professional experience.
- Past experience at a high growth startup, or working at a
direct to consumer marketplace.
- Ability to operate as a team of 1 and get in the weeds to
produce results in a highly ambiguous environment.
- Skills in gathering user feedback from buyers and sellers,
extracting insights, and courage to advocate for product
change.
- A learning mindset around complex data and to create programs
that inform go-to-market strategy, sales, and product
development.
- Excellent internal and external communication skills and
especially experience in building/ managing partnerships
externally.
- Bias for action in a distributed work environment.For US-based
applicants: $190,000/year to $210,000/year + benefits +
