and logistics network. Global Operation Fulfillment Technology,
Automation and Robotics Technology is an organization responsible
for developing and deploying the most advanced and innovative
fulfillment and transportation automation and robotics solutions
that will transform Coupang's fulfillment and logistics network.
This is a unique opportunity to join a startup within one of the
leading e-Commerce companies in Asia. The team will be based out of
Coupang's offices in Mountain View and Seoul.We are looking for an
experienced Computer Vision, Planning and Control expert to be the
Sr. Staff Robotic Algorithm Lead. This technology leader will draw
from his rich experiences and deep expertise in developing and
deploying FC automation solutions using robotics and computer
vision to define our technology roadmap and lead the design,
implementation, and rollout of advanced robotic perception
solutions over Coupang's logistics network. With a startup mindset,
this technology leader can operate comfortably under ambiguity,
with the opportunity to initially be hands-on while building the
computer vision technology and product from ground-up, grow the org
and deliver results under time and resource constraints. As
results-oriented technology leader of the Automation and Robotics
Tech team, you'll be responsible for developing and integrating
state-of-the-art technologies and systems to automate various parts
of fulfillment operations, ranging from inbound, inventory, and
outbound picking & packing processes.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to design, development, test, and
deployment of integrated automation and robotic systems for our
fulfillment centers.
- Work with other members of the engineering team to execute
against project plans and delivery commitments within an
Agile/Scrum environment.
- Deliver production-quality code to achieve the scalability,
reliability, availability, extensibility, and performance
objectives of Coupang's automation and robotic systems.
- Bring innovative ideas to practice and continuously improve the
efficiency, reduce the cost and wow the customers through smart
Coupang Rocket Delivery service.
- Lead on-site development of robotic systems and solutions in
Mountain View and on-site deployment in fulfillment centers in
South Korea.Essential Qualifications:
- Master or PhD Degree in Robotics, Electrical and Electronic
Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years
of experience in FC and logistic automation.
- 8+ years of experience leading FC automation and robotics
development through multiple product/platform releases.
- Deep expertise in building high quality automation and robotic
systems including hardware and software design, code reviews and QA
processes.
- Expert-level programming skills and in-depth knowledge of FC
automation, FC robotic solutions and robotic manipulation
solutions.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities and deliver
results in a fast-paced environment.
- Work closely with multiple engineering teams from fulfillment
and logistics fields, which mainly operate based on KST
time-zone.Preferred Qualifications:
- Master or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electronic
Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Robotics, Computer Vision, AI,
or related discipline with 8+ years of experience in FC and
logistic automation using robotic technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to build, integrate, and deliver highly
reliable and automated warehouse systems using AI and robotics
technologies, especially using robotic arms and manipulation
solutions.
- Deep expertise in real-time AI, robotic, robotic manipulation
and automation systems and technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven
ability to present complex technical information clearly and
concisely to a variety of audiences.
- Proven record of innovation and problem-solving skills,
especially in the areas of logistics and fulfillment automation
using robotic arms.Pay & Benefits:Our compensation reflects the
cost of labor across several US geographic markets. At Coupang,
your base pay is one part of your total compensation.The base pay
for this position ranges from $184,590/year in our lowest
geographic market to $342,810/year in our highest geographic
market. Pay is based on several factors including market location
and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and
