Job Description A day in the life of a Field Server Engineer may
consist of receiving an Outage Request from an external customer.
After reviewing the request for accuracy and impacts to the
command, the Field Service Engineer enters the request into a
web-based tracking program developed to contact approving
personnel. Based upon the responses received, the Field Service
Engineer informs the external customer with a decision to authorize
or reject the original request. The Field Service Engineer
participates in a variety of meetings to include weekly discussions
of critical outages, impacts to our production, and internal
discussions regarding the program. The Field Service Engineer also
develops and provides metrics to show the health of the program.As
an aside, team members can be exposed to a variety of Predictive
Maintenance technologies and building inspection teams, so there is
a huge opportunity to cross-train in other fields, like; vibration,
ultrasound, thermography, corrosion control and building science.In
this job, you will:--- Work closely with external and internal team
members to help make informed decisions--- Use web-based
applications (SharePoint) as well as office applications (MS Office
Professional Plus)--- Write communication documents to inform
external and internal team members of important issues--- Ensure
execution of systems engineering processes across the lifecycle,
and report on project status and progress measured against specific
plans--- Achieve objectives and requirements by performing Systems
Requirements Analysis--- Prepare and review packages, present data
to both internal and external customers, and provide feedback to
improve processes and work to meet engineering objectives---
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in the engineering
disciplines and ensure cost-effectiveness when providing
recommendations--- Maintain a contact lists and update information
periodicallyRequired Education, Experience, & Skills Typical
education and years of related/relevant work experience
required:High School Diploma/GED and at least 8 years of
related/relevant work experience OR an Associate's Degree and at
least 6 years of related/relevant work experience OR Bachelor's
Degree and at least 4 years of related/relevant work experience OR
Master's Degree and at least 2 years of related/relevant work
experience.Additional skills/experience required:
- Strong attention to detail in evaluating and completing various
phases of the outage task
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential
- Willingness to manage multiple tasks at once and adhere to
guidelines and deadlines
- Understand electrical, mechanical systems, building science and
maintenance principles
- Must be able to read and interpret operational and maintenance
manuals, building drawings, plans and technical specifications
- May be times when it will be required to use ladders and
catwalks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Routinely interface with the customer
- Develop and cultivate a positive working relationship with the
customer and co-workers
- Gather, interpret and execute customer requirements
- Basic computer skills, especially email, spreadsheets and
presentation softwarePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Familiarization with Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC)
operations and physical layout.Familiarization with Naval
Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is
desirable.Interpret/understand construction drawings and equipment
manuals.Certification in any of the following areas:Coating
Inspector Program (AMPP/NACE)Airborne/Structure Borne Ultrasound
(ISO)Infrared Thermography (ISO)Vibration Analysis (ISO).Pay
InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680Please note:
This range is based on our market pay structures. However,
individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors
including, but not limited to: business considerations, local
