Job Description:
This is a position in Milgard Support Center managing PVC
compounds, outsourced vinyl extrusion purchases, microingredients,
indirect sourcing and any other commodities as assigned for
multiple MITER manufacturing locations, reporting to a MITER
Support Center Director of Strategic Sourcing. The primary focus of
the position is to plan, organize and manage strategic activities
surrounding the acquisition of assigned categories for MITER. This
person will work closely with location supply chain, materials,
production and quality teams to achieve low costs and continuous
quality improvement, along with delivery and lead time performance
improvement.Pay Range: 90k - 113K, depending on
experienceResponsibilities could also include planning for and
executing the procurement of direct material required to support
production at several remote production facilities for one or more
specific commodities, ensuring an extremely high service level to
the production floor while minimizing inventory
levels.Responsibilities includeDevelop and implement global
sourcing plans and strategies for the assigned categoriesBuild
strong relationships with the MITER, Mi, and Milgard Support
Centers and production locations leadership and procurement
personnel as well as within supplier-partner organizationsEvaluate
the current supplier base: examine the breadth and depth,
specialization, unique capabilities, redundancy, quality standards,
and potential opportunities for cost reductionsCollaborate
negotiation process including specification of service, quality,
pricing and terms and conditions for assigned goods and services
from supplier-partnersDevelopment, review and implementation of
contractsMonitor MITER performance as well as the performance of
supplier partners and initiate corrective action as necessaryInsure
appropriate resources at MITER locations are aligned, deployed, and
operating in accordance with the business strategy to achieve the
targeted resultsProvide timely communications and data regarding
supplier-partners and key issuesExecute the tactical purchasing
functions needed to support MITER production facilities for one or
more commoditiesMonitor the inventory level for assigned
commodities, balancing a high level of customer service with a
responsible inventory levelFor the assigned commodities, assume
ownership of the relationship between the supplier-partner and
MITER; managing quality issues, helping support new product
introductions, scheduling business reviews, and owning the overall
communication flow with assigned supplier-partnersEvaluate usage
patterns at the locations together with sales forecast information
to establish reorder point levels; calculate and provide forecast
information to supplier-partners as neededWork across a matrix
organization, providing customer service to MITER locations while
ensuring they support Support Center purchasing initiatives and
decisionsMaintain a high level of professionalism and ethical
behavior in all interactions with MITER personnel and external
suppliersQualificationsMinimum of a Bachelor's degreeAn MBA or
advanced degree is preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience
related to procurement in a corporate environmentWell-versed in the
procurement of goods and services, preferably chemicals and/or
compounds and indirect experience a plus.Experience in the
development and implementation of business strategiesDemonstrated
success in achieving results through collaboration with
organizations not under your management responsibility (effective
salesmanship of ideas and plans)Demonstrated successful leadership
experienceStrong business and financial acumenExperience in the
development, negotiation and implementation of contracts and
deployment of supply chain processes and best practices for an
organization of a similar size and scopeDemonstrated experience in
influencing, developing and motivating people from diverse
backgrounds; able to lead cross-functional business
teamsDemonstrated people leadership skills; developing direct
reports and othersWorking knowledge of ERP applicationsWorking
knowledge of quality systems, lean and continuous improvement
processes, and project management processesThorough knowledge and
application of budgeting, financial analysis and cost control
